My advice for airbrushing flames on a black cake -- 1st option is to create a paper mask in the shape of the flames and paint the black around it, then come in with the flame colors on the white icing.
2nd option - get hold of some edible opaque white. Spray in the flame shapes and then add the color on top of that. Hope that helps.

Any time I airbrush a cake black, I cannot seem to get any color to show up on top of the black! For example: I just airbrushed a car for a cake and am trying to put flames on the front of it. Nothing is showing up (tried green, yellow and white).
Any tips?
Thank you!!!
